I think its more and more common, but you must have some good hearted friends. My friends pretty much resent me since bitcoin gave me financial peace of mind.
This feels like one of those math problems where I am supposed to figure out which train makes it to the station first after they both leave travelling at 45 mph from locations at different distances. After busting out the calculator and doing some quick math. Here is what I came up with.
3 of the 6 unmarried children will get married before they die.
1 of the married couples will get REALLY into the golf carts and pineapples culture in a central Florida retirement community.
2 of the ones with children will have grandchildren. The other 2 will not.
1 will win the lottery, but lose it all on a shitcoin investment. 2 will join together to start a new mildly successful fresh baked pretzel franchise. The rest will continue living paycheck to paycheck until they retire on social security.
1 of the home owners will get a second mortgage and use the money to buy more Bitcoin. Then retire early to move to a central Florida retirement home and buy a golf cart.
I would say the only uncommon thing for millennial's is that you still have any friends left from high school. That is quite frankly remarkable.

Millennials cover such a big age range, so I think it really depends. In my age group, most have solid careers—some are well off, some probably living paycheck to paycheck. Im in my mid twenties and our friend group of people born at the end of the 90s is in that weird zone where we are between generations (when I was younger I was considered a millennial and now I’m technically a zoomer). I’d say half are going towards the unmarried non-homeowners path and the other half are on the opposite path. Interestingly, I don’t think that is correlated with which of my friends own bitcoin and which don’t. We’ll see if that changes things though10 years from now.
I think within that cohort, it's because having something considered a career is a calling that they just don't see, with the exception of the two you mentioned. I'm working towards that myself, so I know what it's like to a certain extent (very little).

Do they not want to settle down, or they can’t seem to make it happen? I’m starting to believe that the fact you can get right back on the apps and find the next person (especially women) immediately has made it too easy to bail on adversity. The music’s going to stop some day, though.
I only have contact with three of my high school friends. If any have kids, I never heard about it. I think one got married.
Pretty much the same in europe. Plus the home owners received a huge help from the family.

Probably if I had held onto 8 close friends from high school it would match your experience but I just stuck with my main guy, the rest fell by the wayside.
