I prefer a no KYC sauna, personally🤷🏻♂️.
Listen to the wisdom of huberman. He talks a lot about it and cold plunging.

Here's a short one just talking about the protocols: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aYArAYghUA
and a full in depth one : https://www.hubermanlab.com/episode/dr-susanna-soberg-how-to-use-cold-and-heat-exposure-to-improve-your-health
Just consult Seinfeld…
3x 10-15min sessions of quiet sitting and focus on well being sounds pretty damn healthy to me, even if scientifically the heat isnt doing anything.
Infrared is best from what I understand
Saunas are amazing, been going daily for 15+ yrs
Alternate with cold plunge?
Could have some potential 🤙 https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0531556521002916
Def legit.
I wonder how many benefits are also from being in an atmosphere with minimal distraction apart from survival.
Stay in longer than feels comfortable. Builds grit
And entrains your amygdala to stay calm even under stress. Great physiological/psychological hack….😉
I only feel the tangible nervous system benefits when I do extremely cold water plunge sessions in between. 🥶 🥵
But that’s just my 2 sats….
💓🪬🧬😌
I cant remember which podcast I was watching the other day, although I'm pretty sure it nostr:nprofile1qqsqtnz2znkxvv5cr3z84jq9n8exs5xvy8mc5kz5fr8685ruvdkwadqpzdmhxue69uhhwmm59e6hg7r09ehkuef087gx67 . He had some stats saying that overall early risk of death decreases by 40% for ppl that use a sauna. I may be wording that incorrectly. Study was done in either Sweden or Norway.
Hi Jack, the long held theory is that sweating profusely for short periods of time is a very healthy endeavor. People
claim it detoxes the system.
Personally I love it.
It’s a big activity in Scandinavian countries.
Back it 100 percent. Dr Rhonda Patrick has released much research
Check it out. Keep it going
To achieve maximum benefits:
4 sessions per week
20 mins per session
Minimum 175 degrees

Sauna is prob one of the best things for your health. Gets rid of toxins, gets hr elevated to improve cardiovascular fitness. Increases mood
Overhyped today
But it has real benefits. Will it be life changing if you’re already healthy? Probably not, but it’s worth the time if you have access to it
good for detoxing if needed and you can’t temporarily put in the proof of work to sweat out the past, but, if you can, then proof of work should take you to levels of sufficient perspiration where there is a maximum amount of water/mineral loss you’d ideally wouldn’t want to surpass without surpassing mental clarity
Overhyped, unless you really enjoy it (mental belief effects)
Legit. IMHO, they're better with a cold plunge (or cold shower) just after.
Peter Attia discusses at length in several pods.
Legit!! Been sauna obsessed for years now & look much younger than all of my peers who don’t 😃
Saunas and bidets have been criminally underrated in the west for decades.
Need to head to Scandinavia, Finland, Estonia etc and experience a real sauna with the culture over there to add to the experience mate!
here we do sauna out of enjoyment and vibes.
find it odd and funny how people from the states do it timed and as a recovery/health thing
i was thinking the same. we’re too used to it 😂
sauna and bbq, jumping into a lake or a pile of snow dependant on the season
it's a way of life here and acts as an excuse to invite your friends over to talk about life and everything
not that crazy in norway but not that different either. we usually don’t have a sauna at home but there are a bunch pop ups near the fjords or rivers which you can rent, or you have it at your cabin
Joe Rogan is always talking about the many health benefits of sauna... Plus ice baths
Technology that has lasted thousands of years does so for good reason
It’s amazing. That feeling after sauna when you are just relaxing, your heart is beating and you feel your whole body. That can’t be hyped.
I just saw a clip about how you shouldn't sweat longer than 10 min in a sauna, and you should wipe sweat with a towel right away. your body will reabsorb the sweated out toxins if you don't
Legit..
1. Detox from all the sweating from your body.
2. Elevated temp , has some thermogenetic effect
3. Studies have shown potential increase in HGH levels
4. The controlled deeper breathing
Sauna a few times a week is 👌
No, it's essential. If it's your sauna, add heat lamps or quartz tube heaters to it for near-IR.
I believe far infrared is the way to go. I don’t have a sauna - so a bit of an expert.
it’s good. forces ur cells to rehydrate, cycling water, jump starting metabolic function.
add stretching after the muscles and it will change ur life over time
I believe it’s healthy if not overdoing
I do 15min sauna then 3min+ cold plunge (5-10degrees celsius) right after. Repeating 3times per session. Doing once or twice a week.
That just feels right for me.
It’s a lot of hot air letting off steam J
Add a cold plunge between saunas to increase awesomeness.
I came for the sauna but stayed for the cold plunge.

I do it 5x/week. Always after gym. Since years.
Here are benefits I experienced:
Improved Recovery & Performance – Sauna sessions enhance circulation, helping muscles recover faster after workouts while reducing soreness and fatigue. I can workout harder and become stronger.
Increased Stress Resilience – The heat stress from the sauna builds mental resilience, helping you stay calm under pressure and improving your ability to handle stress. I’m simply less stressed.
Boosted Immune System – Regular sauna use strengthens the immune system by promoting heat shock proteins and increasing white blood cell production, making you more resistant to illnesses. I don’t get sick.
Better Sleep Quality – The deep relaxation effect after a sauna session improves sleep patterns, leading to deeper and more restorative rest. I sleep like a baby.
Enhanced Cardiovascular Health – Sauna use mimics moderate exercise by increasing heart rate and improving blood circulation, supporting heart health and overall endurance. I’m fit as fuck.

I only like steam saunas
If someone has problems with the following, be careful with sauna recommendations
- acute illnesses such as flu or a cold
- vein diseases, such as varicose veins or vein inflammation (beware pregnat women or those with hormonal disbalances!)
- diseases of the liver and kidneys
- epilepsy
- after a stroke, heart attack
Generally older and young people like male and female (hormones!) work differently - often quite the opposite.
The University of Oulu in Finland does science on sauna use. Also https://www.foundmyfitness.com/topics/sauna is a nice resource!
Better off walking
Well, it probably sweats out toxins, but you need to keep hydrated
i am agreed with this .
it's not just about the body of self, there's a community aspect as well. gathering together to sweat it out physical and collectively.

i don't know . maybe it is overhyped . i think once in a month would be good .i know a friend who like to do it , 3 time in a week in the winter time ,not summer . also after sauna , need to put a lot of moisturizer on skins as it make your skins dry .
Legit. Cold plunge too.
legit

legit
LEGIT. Could not live without it, but I'm from Finland, people used to born and die in sauna 😅
legit
Legit, but need at least 20min over 170 degrees for full benefit. Also, cold plunge is great for starting day. Sauna end of day.
what is your intention?
that's what will determine if it's of benefit.
Dear Jack, sauna is recommended only for a limited range of people but NOT for you. I am doing advanced work in DNA digitization and I can chart your personal hydration, nutrition, skin care, inhalation, environment and some other things too. I will need your exact birth time, though. Thank you for working. t.me/mutationman
Cold and heat exposures are beneficial for humans in times like today where we have controlled environments (AC/heat anywhere we go) providing comfort. Lots of studies cite the benefits of 60-120mins a week of heat exposure (~160+ F) and 5-15mins of cold exposure (<55F plunge for example). Huberman covers a lot of science on this topic.
I’ve enjoyed the sauna plus cold plunge combo. Some good research there.
For me the impact is probably more from the cold plunge but the sauna gets me ready for it.
1) Anything in excess is bad.
2) A Sauna is probably killing a lot of your skin cells. This means your body is working overtime to re grow the cells. This is a path to skin cancer.
I'm setting up my first hot tub and plan on getting a sauna in the next few years. My girlfriend shared this video with me a few days ago. Data shows immense health benefits, particular cardiovascular health.
Hell yeah. And follow that with a cold plunge, Nordic style.
I live in Vegas. I just step outside for 15-30min to experience the benefits, then take a cold shower for my cold plunge. Enjoy.
