Steak and butter are the most healing foods on the planet.
I was completely against this idea most of my life. Until I tried it.

Me too, 6 years carnivore
I've got a few yikes while eating butter in Spain. But the same people are re-using olive oil for cooking.
A year in and I'm down almost 100 pounds. It's crazy how much it's helped and it's done better than a juice fast I tried before too. A great help on the way to curing my obesity.
had liver today
Superfood. And what I had in my childhood. Moms and grandmas knew.
agree
Intermittent fasting was causing me to lose too much weight. I couldn’t consume enough calories during my feeding window when I was extremely active in the gym. Anyone else have this issue? I’d love to try again but worried about rapid weight loss.
I do IF and probably don’t achieve my muscle mass gaining goals as quickly because of it.
I imagine the trick for you is to add more healthy fats or other ways to increase caloric density while retaining nutrient dense choices.
Yep. Grew up eating liver and onions when I was little. Many traditional recipes are quite healthy. Even traditional deserts are often some combination of eggs, butter and cream.
Based 🥩🤙⚡️
I prefer ghee. But butter is pretty damn good too.
“Change is the essential process of all existence”.
i read this as i just pulled out a steak to cook and put some butter on it when done. 😎
I said this to myself when I ordered steak off the IHOP menu tonight 🤝
I have been following most of Jack's advise. Completed 3 Vipassana meditation courses.
Meditating 2 hours every day. Became vegetarian. No liquor.
one or 2 meals a day. It helped me great deal. Lost lot of weight. Diabets and Blood pressure gone.
Medical science knows very little about our body. They say diabetes is a progressive disorder. It's not.
Some people claim that ancient humans ate lots of plants and because plants don't fossilize we can't prove it, but they claim it anyways. But it's pretty easy to see that is not likely by running this experiment: Go find a wild place on earth and try to survive. You will find you simply cannot get enough food from berries, leaves, even cooked roots. You will end up eating mostly meat.
high cholesterol though?
Nope. Just did full blood labs (as I do every 6-12months). All in range. Low blood pressure and 46 resting heart rate.
Men in my family have a history of early heart attacks. I’m no longer concerned.
Wow must be nice. My resting hr is like 65 👀
I do tons of walking. That I think is the biggest trick.
I recommend jiu jitsu and strength training too.
Wow! My resting heart rate is 70 just reading this #[5] ! 😅
You can bring it down if you want
please explain how? not sure how to get below 70 (unless asleep)
1. Look at your diet. Digestion increases heart rate, bad digestion moreso.
2. Activity. Do long walks and limit training to activities you want to do regularly.
3. Breathe through your nose always, especially when sleeping.
4. Get great sleep. Doesn’t need to be much.
5. Limit toxins. Like alcohol and anything processed.
Just a few things that could help…
Dr Jack in the house!
Those are all great suggestions. I’m usually between 55-63 for resting heart rate. I need to increase my level of activity. Quality sleep is a major issue (Sleep Apnea). No alcohol or toxins for years.
That’s great!
Ugh I’m a healthy eater and work out (swim, run, CrossFit) many times a week. But I have trouble witch caffeine and alcohol…which affects sleep…I’m trying to quit all the bad things but not easy.
My 7 day average RHR is 42-43.
If pushed I would say it’s 80% content mind and 20% general health.
I have no stress, I am content, I am challenged daily, I have full voluntary emotional control. There is nothing for which I am left wanting.
I’m not really interested in chasing owning/having material things. I do things because they are satisfying to me.
I don’t obsess about health, I don’t follow any rigorous plan or regime other than occasional spontaneous fun.
This seems to work.

Really amazing
Definitely get your sleep apnea worked out, even if you have to wear one of those masks at night. It can lead to blood clots and stroke.
Thanks. I tried the mask but it is BEYOND uncomfortable. I feel like I get less sleep when wearing it. I was looking at Inspire, just not sure I’m ready for that. It’s not fun that’s for sure. 🤷♂️
The #5 is tough one 😂😂
Same. I enjoy wine…
what’s your favorite now?
Avoid seed oils ✅
Avoid processed foods ✅
Avoid carbs ✅
Avoid sugar ✅
Eat animal fats and real food and real butter ✅
Drink fresh spring water ✅
Avoid espresso, coffee and red wine GFY
Thanks for sharing. Great tips!
Regarding #3. Buteyko Breathing method is the way. Nose breathing is the way.
#[6] Want to be my gym/health accountability buddy?
do you drink coffee? any caffeine?
Off and on with coffee. I don’t usually but when I’m around morning people that do, I do.
Don’t forget, it’s not just about bringing down your heart rate. Heart rate variability (HRV) is a great measure of a healthy cardiovascular and autonomic nervous system.
How far do you walk each day? I’ve got up to 5 miles a day, and down over 45 lbs since starting!
At least 5m.
8-10km
What do you do when walking? Listen to something like an audiobook, calls, music, or enjoy the walk like a psycho?
Full psycho
😂
😂
Wow, how do you enjoy the walk without distraction? Do you have company? When I walk alone I usually have to listen to something … or catch Pokémon.
I love walking. Don’t need anything else.
Does it have to be like a stimulating environment that you walk in, or do you enjoy walking in a city or a rural town as much as you do on an Oceanside or mountain trail?
Both. Anywhere.
I got myself a walking pad for my stand desk. Went from hardly getting 2K steps a day to 20-40K steps every work day.
Was a total game changer.
Highly recommended.
I always do the most scenic route..
This app rewards you in sats for walking if you need a little extra motivation https://apps.apple.com/us/app/smiles-bitcoin-rewards/id1492458803
The sights while walking keep me entertained.
this gif but without the headphones
🎧 podcast 👌🏼
Walking at my place is amazing. I love it.
I try to use the oportunity to just be present, look around, listen to sounds, even if it's in the city... so... like a psycho? hahaha.
What’s your daily goal? I’ve been trying to hit 10k (love the city so that helps!)
Right off the bat, 70% of your muscles are fighting insulin resistance with walking
Pretty much the same, I eat two normal meals a day and 3-4 times workouts a week.
I also practice mental peace using various methods.
Doing full month fasting in Ramadan every year since I was 12.
No processed food at all. Never consumed toxins such as alcohol and I don’t smoke either.
Yea agreed. My cholesterol levels has been in 350+ range for the last 5 yrs. Total cholesterol or LDL won’t matter, better to optimize Triglyceride level, insulin and inflammation. HOMA-IR score is also a better marker.
Glad to hear everything is ok. Maybe do extra test too like echocardiogram to check valves. That’s the test I missed out for my dad.
Human body can adjust and produce cholesterol. Let’s say if your body needs 1000mg per day, it can actually produce a lot of what it needs. If you eat 1000mg, you’ll not produce any. If you go over that, extras will just leave your system.
There was a experiment on different people eat tons of egg everyday. A diabetes patient can eat 14 eggs a day, everyday for a month, cholesterol levels didn’t really change.
This.
In my basic understanding what matters is the size and stickiness of the cholesterol blobs. Big sticky bad, small flowy good. This is also why the science around this is hard, since it's not just a simple chemical reaction, but rather including physical properties if the compounds.
yep, ghee or lard also. add goat milk kefir and we good.
keto & carnivore eaters are gonna love this one
Were you plant based for a while? If so what was the catalyst to add meat?
🤙
I was vegan for 2 years and it was the unhealthiest thing I ever did. After that was pretty random and experimented with a lot.
Good to know
Vegan was pretty rough for me. Cutting out sugar and processed foods was the best this I ever did after I stopped being vegan. Then went to mostly meat, eggs and some veggies, which has worked well for me.
Thanks for answering! Been vegan ( plant based, zero processed food )for 12 years, and I miss the muscle mass I lost being a runner. Hard to keep the weight on! Every Easter I’m tempted by the lamb thought.
HAPPY EASTER ALL!
story of my life. keto changed everything
There is a magic pill to better overall physical and mental health. It lowers mortality rate in ALL categories and it’s not from a pharmaceutical company… Exercise.
Muay Thai, BJJ, pickle ball, walking, running, lift heavy, etc. Find something you like and do it at least 3x a week along with active life style like walking.
What about proclaimed inflammation concerns?
See for yourself. Eat one ingredient for a week. Like steak or broccoli or whatever. Just that one.
See how it digests. Bloat? Stick with whatever digests the easiest and causes zero bloating. That’s your inflammation.
16 hr / day fast for years now, I swear by it too! 🫶 Health is wealth fren 🫶
Agree fasting is 🔑 . Not eating in the morning has been my single biggest health and productivity boost.
Eating 4 eggs at lunch with salt, garlic, and butter comes as a close second
Sounds like a good idea. I read that meat is supposed to shorten life span and a cause for inflammation. I never did the connection to bloating to be honest. Do you mix it up, red, chicken, fish?
Mainly cow and fish. Cow seems to be least toxic tho.
This seems to completely be the opposite of what I was reading the last years. “Blue zones”, vegetarian diet, … Very interesting. That you for sharing. Going to do more research and try myself.
Blue zones aren’t vegetarian.
And I’d also question the concept of a blue zone. The study wasn’t the best.
Real community-don’t over eat
At least from what I read the most common factor were a legume based diet, low stress, physical activity. But it seems not conclusive. Did you read the book of David Sinclair “Lifespan”?
Are you taking supplements like Creatine, Protein, etc.?
Follow the work of Dr.Shawn Baker and/or Dr.Ken Berry
Watch Fat Fiction will help explain some of this.
Been feeling that too .
It just occurred to me there is a biological basis to this… Beef has the lowest bacteria count by far.
eat grass fed organic. also meat outside the states >>>
Nightshades like tomatoes can cause inflammation for some people. Like @jack said try to process of elimination with your diet. Supplements like Turmeric can help some people with inflammation but likely a food you’re eating is causing it. Best wishes figuring it out.
Any time I have a chance I eat about a pound of grass fed beef and butter and my performance and mental focus is superior than on days I don’t. I mine Fiat sometimes for up to 14 hrs a day.
Not sure if is the meat but It seems to feel that way.
🥩🫂🤙🏼
Makes me think of “The Big Fat Surprise: Why Butter, Meat and Cheese Belong in a Healthy Diet.” by Nina Teicholz.
More accurate nutritional education resources in that one book than any of my medical school courses.
Truth.
Butter is the only fat I cook with now; no oils.
Not even olive oil?
Nope. All butter, all the time (:
Everything tastes amazing!
do you use ghee?
My top 2 😂 especially together. I am butter obsessed and used to shill this small batch butter called “Kates Butter” so often that a colleague made me a custom Tshirt that says “Katie’s Butter” and replaces the face in their logo with mine 🥴 but a lot of the studies on C15:0 are confirming the benefits of butter
